An Interview with Eva Gordon!

Please welcome Eva Gordon to my blog today! And for those of you who stopped by on Tuesday, November 11 and wondered where Beth Caudill's interview was, my deepest apologies. We've rescheduled Beth for December 4th. I've been sicker than a dog and was not able to post her interview. Sorry, Beth! We'll see you on December 4th!

Alisha: Can you tell us a little bit about your childhood? Favorite memories?

Eva: My early childhood focused on my passion for horses. My mom sat me on a saddle when I was two years old. Riding, drawing them and reading about them. Eventually I ended up owning a fiery little gray Arabian gelding. I retired him but am still a horseaholic, one ride and I’m back on the saddle.

Alisha: Tell us about the hero and heroine in your latest release.

Eva: My debut novel just released is The Stone of the Tenth Realm, a dark fantasy with a strong romantic element.

Sophie Katz escapes a concentration camp with the help of her mage/Rabbi grandfather and a golem and ends up in a different realm. Once a student of chemistry she is now an alchemist in the Tenth Realm, a world parallel to our own but magical rather than industrial. She lands alone in the Bestiary, a preserve for magical creatures and fraught with danger.

Logan MacLeod is a Druid warrior who now lives in the Bestiary because he has been cursed to become a werewolf. He lives as a hermit until he meets Sophie who is drawn to his melodic bag piping music. Their love blossoms as war ensues around them.

Together they must fight the evil from the Guild of the Golden Rose, led by Hiltler’s doppelganger, Hissler.

Alisha: Wow! I can't wait to read this, Eva! Sounds fascinating! If you were granted three wishes by a genie, what would they be?

Eva: Never age beyond, say 25 years of age, speak to animals and have Oprah recommend my novels to everyone.

Alisha: Those are some awesome wishes. Can I steal those? If you could go anywhere to tomorrow, where would you go?

Eva: I have traveled quite a bit but still hope to someday see Mongolia (horse thing) and Borneo (ape thing).

Alisha: I hope you get your wish and travel to both places, Eva. If you could see anyone tomorrow (dead or alive), who would it be?

Eva: Steven Spielsberg or George Lucas and we could talk making a movie about my novel.

Alisha: If you could choose six people to spend one week on a desert island, who would it be and why?

Eva: My husband, son, daughter, daughter’s boyfriend, Michio Kaku and Deepack Chopra. I love my family. Michio for discussions on physics and Deepack for cool spiritual discussions.

Alisha: If only I could be a fly on the wall. I'd love to listen in on those conversations. What word or phrase tingles in all the right places for you?

Eva: I love it when the hot alpha male in my novel or in someone else’s novel says “You are mine.”

Alisha: Mmmmm...sounds yummy! If you had one day to spoil yourself, what would you do?

Eva: Go back to the wolf sanctuary where I volunteered and play with the pack.

Alisha: You are one cool lady, Eva! Can I tag along? If you could change one incident in your life, what would it be and how would you change it?

Eva: I would not change anything. My journey has not always been easy, but always interesting.

Alisha: What’s the sexiest thing a man has ever done for you or said to you or both?

Eva: So many when you are married to your hero. It is sexy that my husband was cool with me going on a permanent sabbatical from teaching biology to write full time.

Alisha: That is VERY cool! What a great guy! Thanks for hanging out with me today, Eva!

I love that cover! It reminds me of a Tarot card. ;) Your book sounds fascinating. How much do you read about Hitler? Have you read The Atrocity Archives by Charles Stross. Very very intriguing. It's a fun read, and there's a romance! Skhye
