The Unforgettable Keta Diablo and She's Giving Away 2 Books!

Please welcome Keta to my blog today.

Alisha: Can you tell us a little bit about your childhood? Favorite memories?

Keta: I grew up in suburbia, cluster neighborhoods of three-bedroom ramblers. I am a middle child with two brothers who insist I should have been a lawyer because I ask endless questions. You know what they say about middle children, don’t you? They’re often lonely and feel persecuted (lol) because they’re somewhere between the favored first and the baby of the family. I never felt neglected or lost in the shuffle. I imagine it was because I was an only girl and much coddled by my parents and brothers. As a child, I was on the “wee” bit bossy side and don’t tell anyone, but my siblings still call me “The General”.

Alisha: I'm a middle child too and wow..yeah, I felt like I was in no man's land...lol! Tell us about the hero and heroine in your latest release. BTW, that is one stunning, sexy, gorgeous cover! Wow!

Keta: Thank you so much for asking. That would be Sophia and Gavin from The Land of Falling Stars. The story’s theme revolves around a love triangle. Sophia has been promised to Jesse from the day she entered the world. Their fathers cut a deal to enhance their wealth and their lands. It would have been an idyllic match if Gavin Langdale hadn’t left Massachusetts as a child and moved to a neighboring plantation. Jesse, Gavin and Sophia became inseparable as children and both men fell madly in love with Sophia. When the Civil War came, Jesse and Sophia swore fealty to the South and Gavin fought for the North in honor of his deceased parents.

Fate steps in when Gavin accidentally kills Jesse on a smoke-filled battlefield and he’s left to bring Sophia the devastating news. Gavin is a very tortured soul and Sophia, a feisty woman. An endless stream of unfortunate events occur, murder, betrayal and lust – the best combination for a romance.

Many have asked where the title came from, so I’m about to tell you. Before the war ripped their lives apart, the innocuous trio would lie in the tall grass behind Sophia’s beloved home, Arbor Rose, and pretend they lived in The Land of Falling Stars.

Alisha: Sigh...I got serious chills reading about the title. This book sounds great! I'll have to get it! A love triangle...doesn't get any better than that! If you were granted three wishes by a genie, what would they be?

Keta: That God would appear and straighten out this mess the world is in because only she has the capability to do so.

That my children find peace and harmony in their lives.

That everyone would adopt the motto “Harm None” and live by it every day.

Alisha: All wonderful wishes. If you could go anywhere tomorrow, where would you go?

Keta: To every animal shelter in the world and rescue all the abused, neglected and abandoned creatures.

Alisha: Sniff...I just took in two stray doggies and they are so sweet. I just love animals. If you could see anyone tomorrow (dead or alive), who would it be?

Keta: Can I have two picks? Abraham Lincoln and John Wayne. I know, I’m a real dork.

Alisha: Uh...okay. Snort...just kidding. That is kind of funny though....and I'm not sure why...I think it's the combo. Each man was amazing but the two of them together...lol. That would be an interesting conversation. Talk about variety! If you could choose six people to spend one week on a desert island, who would it be and why?

Keta: Daniel Craig, Hugh Jackman, Jonathan Ryhs-Myers, Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom, and Steve McQueen (we’d have to resurrect him first). Can we say “ménage”???

Alisha: I'm going to be a good girl and not say a word. Well...not say some words. What word or phrase tingles in all the right places for you?

Keta: “Please don’t tell me to stop.”

Alisha: You're a serious trip. If you had one day to spoil yourself, what would you do?

Keta: Light candles, take a long soak with scented sea salts, cuddle up in bed with hot coffee and a pile of books without interruptions.

Alisha: Sounds perfect! If you could change one incident in your life, what would it be and how would you change it?

Keta: Try much harder to make the cheerleading team in junior high school. I was shy and I didn’t try, or wasn’t sure enough of myself to give it my all. I wanted to make it so bad and I never had the courage to try out again. Yet, it made me a stronger person and prepared me for learning how to deal with rejection. Lord knows, authors have enough of that to deal with to last a lifetime!

Alisha: There's a reason for everything. You could have been on the top of one of those pyramids and fallen off and cracked your skull open and we'd never get to read your amazing books! What’s the sexiest thing a man has ever done for you or said to you or both?

Keta: See Chapter Nineteen, Decadent Deceptions.

Alisha: Oooooh, I will!

Keta: Thank you so much for having me, Alisha.

Great interview. "Land of Falling Stars" sounds like a good book. I with Keta on going to every animal shelter in the world and rescuing all the abused, neglected and abandoned animals. Growing up I loved watching John Wayne movies, he would be someone I would of love to met too.
