Happy New Year! Wow! We made it to 2012? Who is happy to see 2011 fade into history? Talk about one whirlwind, exciting year for me! Reflection can be good but focusing on the future is what I enjoy most. What did you learn over the past year? Do you feel a year wiser? I feel about ten years wiser and ten times more blessed for all the wonderful friends I've met in the reading and writing world. Books have truly led me to some beautiful people. And to some of the most interesting, entertaining people in the world. I feel lucky to have been a part of YOUR world. The internet has made us closer to one another in this huge world we live in and made it seem smaller.
I won't preach to you about New Year's Resolutions or past year regrets but I will leave you with something very, very special. Something that touched my daughter's life and mine as well. Before I share this special video with you, I want to wish everyone a blessed New Year, full of love, prosperity and happiness! 2012 is going to be a great year! If you enjoy historicals, grab The Wooden Nickel! This book is most dear to my heart, loosely based on my grandparents' experiences growing up during The Great Depression and living through WWII. Though the story is fiction, the undying message of hope and love comes from the love my grandparents shared. My beautiful, strong grandmother is still with us today but my beloved grandfather, Poppy left for heaven October 10, 2001. This book is dedicated to the memory of their love and in memorium of my grandfather. They had a love like no other that transcends beyond death. I hate that my grandfather never read The Wooden Nickel since the 1st Edition was published in 2008 but I feel sure he is watching from above.
