A Book For All the Dead Girls

When I spoke to survivor, Betty Lee Hanson over the phone in January of 2012, she told me the horrifying story of her escape from a serial killer on Christmas night, 1973. Betty Lee was 15-years-old. I was 3-years-old and still remember the brand new kitchen I got from Santa that year. My mother tells me it took them hours to put together and they finally went to bed at 3 am. While I was sleeping in bed after a huge Christmas with all the wonder of childhood, Betty Lee was going through Hell. She was fighting for her life in the middle of a blizzard, on the side of the highway, face to face with serial killer, Ralph Andrews.Betty Lee survived a stab to the heart and lived to testify against Andrews many times.

This is my first non-fiction book and I'm proud to take on this project. If you ask Betty Lee why she wants this book written, she'll tell you this: "For all the dead girls. These girls want this story written."

When Betty Lee uttered those words to me, a chill snaked down my spine and I knew I had to write this book.

THE PREY THAT GOT AWAY is Coming soon!

And this book is for all the dead girls. May you all rest in peace.
